Greenhouse Effect

Climate Gases – the Flint of the Greenhouse Effect

The obligatory reductions refer to the following six most important greenhouse gases:

  • Carbon Dioxide (CO2), e.g. the burning of crude oil, gas, wood, coal
  • Methane (CH4), origin e.g. landfills, agriculture, rice crop growing
  • Nitrous Oxide (N2O), e.g. landfills, biofertilizers containing nitrogen
  • Perfluorinated Compounds (PFC), e.g. production and manufacturing of aluminium
  • Hydrochlorofluorcarbons (HFCs), used in the chemical industry, cooling agents
  • Sulfur Hexafluoride (SF6), emergence through electric power lines

According to international data the respective share each of the above listed greenhouse gases has in the overall greenhouse effect are as follows:

  • emission CO2 64%
  • emission CH4 20%
  • emission N2O 6%
  • emission FCKW 10%
